Allison Chinchar, a CNN as well as HLN meteorologist at CNN and HLN. She is often featured as a guest on CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. Before being hired by CNN in June 2015 she served as meteorologist for regional stations located in Atlanta, Nashville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. The meteorologist has covered wildfires, floods, hurricanes as well as storms. In the year 2019 she was nominated to win the Emmy award for covering the hurricane Dorian within the Bahamas. In April of 2011 she was a reporter for the super-tornado outbreak when 350 tornadoes struck the Southeastern United States within four days. Over 200 of them were recorded on the 27th of April 2011. Her background being an ecoscientist has given her the ability to report regarding climate change and natural catastrophes like the eruption of volcanoes, earthquakes, and so on. Chinchar received a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University. She is also a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society as well as the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
